GPRD 2016 World Series Plaque unveiled

 

 

On Friday, June 2 the City of Greenville recognized the 2016 Dixie Debs softball team at the Greenville Sportxplex with a plague commemorating their accomplishment. They are the first team in the history of Greenville to win a baseball or softball state championship. Councilman Ed Sims gave remarks to those in attendance and said, “After we returned from Louisiana last year we began discussing ways to honor these young ladies for this achievement. On behalf of Mayor Dexter McLendon and the other members of the City Council we thank you for your participation in our youth league program. Thank you for your hard work and dedication. We are proud of all you accomplished.”
