DEACON RALPH PRESTON WATTS
Funeral services for the late Deacon Ralph Preston Watts were held on June 7, 2017 at 11 a.m. from Harrison Street Baptist Church. Rev. Anthony Baxter officiated. A military burial followed in Magnolia Cemetery. Hudson Funeral Services, Greenville, directed.
Deacon Ralph Preston Watts was born on February 5, 1950 to the late Mr. Herbert and the late Mrs. Ollie Watts in Greenville. Ralph graduated from Lomax Hannon High School May 29, 1968.
Ralph enlisted in the US Army, serving in the Vietnam War and was honorably discharged. Ralph was ordained as a Deacon at Harrison Street Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Reverend Anthony Baxter on May 29, 2016.
Ralph departed this earth on May 30. Ralph was preceded in death by his parents, and brother, Richard Watts.
Ralph leaves to cherish his memories a beloved fiancé Betty Wilkerson; two daughters, Naomi Coleman and Lurline (Fredrick) Crenshaw; son, Tony Coleman, all of Greenville; sister, Helen Watts Brewer, Pensacola, Fla.; brothers, SFC (Ret.) Michael (Marianne) Watts, Bavaria, Germany; Captain (Ret.) James (Cheryl) Watts, Cumming, Ga.; sister-in-law, Emma Watts, Greenville; aunt, Susie Cooper, Pensacola, Fla.; six grandchildren, four great grand -children and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and special friends.
