Miss Relay Halloween to be spooktacular
Special to The Standard
Helping Hearts Relay for Life team is hosting the very first Miss Relay Halloween Pageant on Oct. 27 at the historic Ritz Theater in downtown Greenville. Helping Hearts is no stranger to the pageant world. In February this team hosted the Miss Relay for Life Pageant and raised more than $6,000 making the team the top fundraising team in Butler County for 2018. With an overwhelming interest in hosting a second pageant, Team Captain April Richey along with team member Melonie Branch, came up with the idea of a Halloween themed pageant for girls of all ages! The announcement was made at the February event, and quickly became a hot topic in the pageant world. This will be a traditional pageant, with a Spooktacular twist. The rules for the pageant are very simple: You must wear a pageant dress, appropriate for your age division You must do a traditional beauty walk You can add (but it is not required) any Halloween accessory to help create a costume look The contestants will only be judged on her “costume” look if she purchases the optional at $5 each. The traditional walk will be judged with a winner for the title, 1st alternate and 2nd alternate in each division. Optional winners will be judged with a winner for: Best Halloween Hair, Best Halloween Make-Up, Best Halloween Accessories and Best Over All Halloween Look. There will also be a Miss Spooktacular taking the place of Miss Congeniality. There will be two extra titles up for grabs for Miss Popular Relay. Those titles are won by whoever can get the most paid votes. Each vote is $1 and the winner will be crowned at the pageant. Registration cut off is Thursday, Oct. 25. Registration fee is $35 for the pageant and $5 for each optional. Admission into the pageant is $5 for ages 0-9 and $10 for ages 10 and up. “We want to thank all the sponsors who have helped makeour pageants a success,” said Richey. “With their continued
support each pageant will grow along with the size of the crowns! We look forward to seeing all of you at the pageant. Good Luck to all the beautiful babies, ladies and women who will be strutting their stuff across our stage. All profits from our events go to Butler County Relay for Life.”For more information please email helping_hearts18@gmail.com or find them on Facebook: Helping Hearts Relay 4 Life.
