LINDA CAROL SPANN SALTER
Linda Carol Spann Salter, age 68, of Georgiana died on Nov. 13, 2018.
Funeral services were held at the Church of the Lord Jesus, 8771 East State Hwy 106, Georgiana at 2 p.m. on Wednesday, Nov. 21 with Brother Joey Dean officiating and Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home in Greenville directing. Burial followed in Old Union Cemetery in Georgiana.
The family received friends Tuesday, Nov. 20, from 6-8 p.m. at Dunklin & Daniels Funeral Home in Greenville.
Mrs. Salter was preceded in death by her parents, Cecil and Lois Spann; and her two brothers, Louis and Wayne Spann.
She is survived by three children, LaDon (Wendy) Hudson, Angela (Daniel) Gallegos, and Jeff (Amanda) Hudson; eight grandchildren, Santanna Lawson, Nolleigh Reaves, Gracie Hudson, Danny Gallegos, Allyn Hudson, Archer Hudson, Colin Gallegos, and Annabel Gallegos; two sisters, Ernestine McLellan and Jean Dean, and many loving nieces and nephews.
Linda grew up in Georgiana and graduated from Georgiana High School in 1969, a year delayed due to spinal surgery to correct scoliosis. Since her formative years were marked with intensive surgeries and recovery, Linda’s life passion was caring for those in need as a nurse.
She spent many years helping to heal and nurture patients in the hospital, nursing homes, and rehabilitation centers. An Alabama native, she spent the last four years of her life in sunny California, but returned home to Georgiana for her final slumber.
