LOUNELL GASTON MALONE

Mrs. Lounell Gaston Malone, age 84, a former resident of Greenville passed away Monday April 22, 2019 in Deatsville.

Funeral services were held on Thursday, April 25 at 2 p.m. at Dunklin and Daniels Funeral Home with Brother Herbert Brown officiating and Dunklin and Daniels Funeral Home directing. Burial followed at Magnolia Cemetery. A visitation was held one hour prior to the start of the service.

Mrs. Malone was preceded in death by her parents Elvin Ernest Gaston and Barnie Mae Grant Gaston.

She is survived by her husband Ed F. Malone who resides in the Bill Nichols Veterans Home in Alexander City;  sister, Betty Sue Lucas (Donald Ray, Sr.) of Birmingham; daughter, Rita Lou Vonland Allen (Ben Stuart) of Slapout; son, Michael Arlan Vonland (Denise) of Cleveland, Ga.; step-daughters Amanda Malone Maines (Frank) of Newnan, Ga. and Angela Malone of Decatur, Ga.; grandchildren Marie Lounell Ginn, Vanessa Lynea Vonland, Clayton Von Allen, and Terrance Lee Allen ( Crystal); step- grandchildren, Sarah Maines, Annah Maines, Benjamin Maines and Abigayle Malone; great-grandchildren, Travis Allen and Lily Allen;  nephew Donald Ray Lucas, Jr (Barbara); and great nephew Donald Lucas III.

Lou grew up in Butler County and was a 1953 graduate of Greenville High School.  She enjoyed being a homemaker for many years in the Atlanta area and moved back to Greenville after the death of her parents to maintain the family home.

She and Ed enjoyed being members of Southside Baptist Church and she enjoyed being a member of the Butler County Historical and Genealogical Society.

Pallbearers were: Donald Ray Lucas, Jr. Clayton Von Allen, and Larry Gaston.
