2019 Buckmasters Expo Aug. 16-18

The Buckmasters Expo is Montgomery’s unofficial sign that fall is coming, this year’s event, presented by South Alabama Chevy Dealers Aug. 16, 17 and 18, is keeping the tradition.

The Expo is geared to families and hunting, including the easy price of admission of a can of food or a $1 donation to benefit the Salvation Army and Friendship Mission.

It’s a 26-year tradition in affordability, thanks to Buckmasters’ local and national sponsors. Show hours are 3-9 p.m. Friday, 9 a.m. to 7 p.m. Saturday, and 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.

More than 300 vendor booths will feature a full range of hunting products at show discounts so you can see, touch and feel a product before you buy it.

The Expo is packed with entertainment from outdoors celebrities, the Top Bow World Championship and its $15,000 in prizes, and the new Buckmasters Collegiate Fishing Championships with a 4 p.m. Saturday weigh-in.

New this year, Buckmasters has partnered with the Montgomery Performing Arts Center to showcase top regional musical artists from Montgomery and Nashville in the River Region Review.

It’s a chance to see these future stars on the MPAC stage Friday and Saturday night before they hit the big time. Tickets are $20 for a one-day pass, $30 for both days, and are on sale at Ticketmaster and MPAC.

Saturday and Sunday, come see Bone Collector’s Michael Waddell and Virginia bowhunter Luke Brewster’s new world record 353 5/8-inch whitetail. The Illinois monster buck and Buckmasters Deer of the Year will be available for viewing Saturday and Sunday, presented by Wind Creek Casino & Hotel, Montgomery.

Hunters can bring their deer racks to be scored free of charge by Buckmasters Trophy Records master scorers.

On Saturday, meet and chat with outdoor celebrities Bill and Tyler Jordan, the guys from Small Town Hunting TV, Cody Kelly, Chris Ashley and Keith Burgess, and Shell Rotella Pro Angler Jimmy Houston.

Chase Elliott’s #9 NAPA Show Car will be there, and the Harriott II Riverboat will be offering free rides Saturday and Sunday on the Alabama River. There’s a kid’s activity center for young bucks, and fun learning displays by the Alabama Extension Service.
