Eagles’ diamond action

The Fort Dale diamonds saw some action last week on the heels of spring break. Senior third baseman Lela Mansmann closed the top of the third inning with this fielder’s choice out in Fort Dale’s 6-2 loss to Ezekiel Academy. Mansmann currently leads the Lady Eagles at the plate with a 418 batting average and 21 RBI’s. Sophomore catcher Braxton Hartley picked off the runner at first with this tag by senior first baseman Chandler Little. The Eagles defeated Ezekiel 12-2 with Brayden Young on the mound for the win in 5 complete innings. Both Fort Dale teams are headed into the last two weeks of the regular season with records of 10-12 for the girls and 14-7 for the boys. (Kathy Pickens | The Standard)
