The Greenville Area Arts Council (GAAC) opened applications for the Roberta P. Gamble Arts Scholarship on July 10. Applications will be accepted through Aug. 29, and the scholarship recipient notification date is Sept. 25.
The scholarship is named in honor and memory of Roberta “Bobbie” Gamble, who is noted by the GAAC as founder, friend, inspiration, and guiding light.
The scholarship is designed to support residents of Butler County, Alabama, who seek to enrich their own lives or the lives of others through the arts, including music, dance, drama, and visual art.
Up to $1,000 in funding is available and may be awarded in full or divided among multiple recipients as needed.
Interest applicants should visit GAAC’s website www. gaac-ritz.com/arts-scholarship to fill out the required form.
Important details concerning the scholarship are:
Scholarship funds will be paid directly to the provider of services or products (“The Entity”).
To be considered, an invoice from the provider must be submitted with the application.
Awards cannot be paid directly to the applicant.
If awarded the scholarship, an invoice must be provided to GAAC in order to apply funds to the provider of services or products directly.
GAAC Director Nancy Idland has noted that two scholarships will be awarded this year and is thankful for the community’s support of funding through donated auction items and monetary gifts.
Idland has described Gamble as an amazing woman who changed her life, “our star who fell on Greenville, Alabama.”
