Eagles edge Wildcats

The Fort Dale Academy Eagles traveled to face the blue and white Wilcox Academy Wildcats of Camden this past Friday evening and edged them out for their second victory of the 2025 season, 17-16.
The first quarter was a stalemate with neither team scoring.
In the second quarter the Eagles found their wings and passing game. Eagle QB Blake Slagley connected with Tyler Holleyfield for a 55-yard passing touchdown and then Kemper Waters for a 13-yard touchdown.
Waters completed both point after attempts and Fort Dale carried a 14-0 lead into halftime.
In the third quarter, Wilcox managed to score on six-yard run and make a two point conversion.
The Eagles would score again in the fourth quarter on a Waters 40-yard field goal to make the score 17-8
Wilcox would make another attempt to close the score gap but only managed another touchdown and two point conversion, finishing the score 17-16.
The Eagles had another complete offensive effort from their backfield and receivers in the win. Slagley went 11 of 23 passing for 162 yards, while Parker Crenshaw, Lowery, Slagley, and Jackson Black combined for 151 yards rushing on 33 carries.
Defensively, Dalton Newton and Black took command combining for 12 tackles on the night
The 2-0 Eagles next travel to face red and white Rebels of Lowndes Academy this Friday.
The 2-0 Rebels defeated the Crenshaw Christian Cougars this past Friday 41-41.
