This past Friday night, the 5A Tigers of Greenville High School hosted the 5A cardinal and white Bulldogs of Andalusia High School and lost 42-21.
In the first quarter, Andalusia scored first on a 46-yard rushing touchdown. Greenville answered right back with a 92-yard kick return for a touchdown by Calderious Willams making the score 7-7.
From there it was back and forth until a Greenville defensive back intercepted a Bulldog pass and returned it for a 70-yard touchdown.
With the extra point attempt complete, Greenville led 14-7.
The Tiger’s score set the Bulldogs on fire and they rattled off a quick 21 points to make the score 28-14 at half.
After half, both teams entered a stalemate of back and forth until Andalusia scored with six minutes left in the third quarter and then two minutes later, they scored again, making the score 42-14.
Greenville’s last score of the night would come with eight minutes left in the fourth quarter on a Cedric Morris to Collin Turner 57-yard touchdown pass.
Greenville, now 1-2 on the season, will travel to face the 2-2 navy blue and white 5A Rams of Headland High School.
The Rams lost to Eufaula this past Friday 40-21. They also lost to Andalusia the week prior 36-15.
This should be a tight game and may be the defining moment of the 2025 football season for the Greenville Tigers.
