SOFTBALL

Alabama Dixie Softball State Tournament

Greenville’s 19U Dixie Softball All-Star team began strong over the past weekend with wins over Montgomery American and Eufaula. However, on Sunday, the girls lost two games to Eufaula and placed second in the tournament.

This would have been the fourth time in a row Greenville could have won the state championship and played in the Dixie World Series.

Stat leaders were Zoe Conway, Sariyah Dickerson, Sy’Nya Edwards, Dakota Hudson, Lacey Kelley, and Lexi Reaves.

Greenville’s 15U Dixie Softball All-Star team is headed to the Dixie Softball World Series in West Pasco, Fla., after defeating Dallas County and Eufaula for the state championship.

Stat leaders were Aubrey Davis, McKenzie Fulton, Addyson Mount, and Allie Newton.

Team members are Chloe Chun, Aubrey Davis, Kaidence Davis, Jaylee Foster, McKenzie Fulton, Anna Clark Hickman, Ja’Niyah Longmire, Allie Newton, Addyson Mount, Breanna Sanders, Abigail Smith, and Miley Sorrells.

Greenville’s 12U Dixie Softball All-Star team played for the state championship on Monday but were defeated by Troy. They placed as runners up.

Stat leaders were Lizzie Beverly, Maggie Lee Bourne, Callie Chun, Anleigh Davis, Brenyn Hicks, Mary Campbell McCormick, Quin Sexton, and Charlie Whitaker.

Greenville’s 8U Dixie Softball All-Star team also played in the state tournament this weekend but were knocked out from the tournament Sunday morning.

Stat leaders were Phyllis Ann Bourne, Kyliegh Cates, Bella Jones, Ellie Rogers, and Charleigh and Margaret Taylor.

BASEBALL

Greenville’s 14U baseball all-stars played at the Sportsplex in Greenville this past weekend. They lost two games in succession and were knocked out of the tournament.
