JARQUIS O’NEAL OWENS

Dec. 20, 1995 – Sept. 30, 2025

On the afternoon of Sept. 30, 2025, the Angels of Silence came into the room of the University of Birmingham Hospital and chilly hands sealed the lips of Brother Jarquis O’Neal Owens.  His soul winged its flight from this world of sin, sorrow, and pain, to a place of eternal rest.

Twenty-nine years old, Jarquis Owens, was born in Greenville, Alabama, at Stabler’s Memorial Hospital to the late Temika Shana Owens on Wednesday, Dec. 20, 1995.

He was preceded in death by his grandparents Charlie B. Owens and Clara Steele Owens and his great grandparents Dan Steele, Sr. and Sarah Steele.

He was added to the church at an early age.

He graduated from Greenville High School with the class of 2014. He loved his family. He loved working and enjoyed his extended family at Wintzell’s, where he has worked since they opened the doors in 2014. He also worked at Cracker Barrel and was loved there as well.

Rejoicing in his wonderful life, yet mourning his death, is his only sister Jameshia Owens of Utica, Mich.; uncle, Dedric (Karen) Owens; aunts, Melissa Owens and Alethea Williams of Greenville; special cousins, Jamaal (LaDashia) Owens and their son, Damir Jamaal, of Fort Johnson, La., Kanitra and her children Kyri, Emmarie, and Brooklynn of Phoenix, Ariz., and Tomoz (Tiffany) Rudolph of Sicily, Italy; a special great aunt, Annie Rudolph; a special aunt, Tammie Rice; many more great aunts and great uncles; a host of other special cousins and special relatives; friends and special friends; including his friends from Wintzell’s and Cracker Barrel.
