WILLIAM EDWIN CATER, JR.
May 25, 1943 – July 1, 2026
William Edwin “Bill” Cater, Jr., 83, of Greenville, passed away peacefully at his home on Wednesday, July 1, 2026.
He is preceded in death by his parents, William Edwin Cater and Alma Lois Booker Aycock and stepfather, Jim Aycock.
He is survived by his wife, Carol Cater; children, William “Billy” Cater, III, Christy Cater Brack (Ben), Carla Cater Holcombe (Ben), and Brian Cater (Sheree); siblings, Mary McKinley (Paul), Jim Aycock, Nell McLaurin, John “Buddy” Cater (Margaret), Susan Stacey, Nancy Simpson; grandchildren, Jordan, Cason, Baron, Anna Cate, Will, Hannah (Brandon), and Lane; great-grandchildren, George, Greer, Thomas, and another on the way.
Memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, July 11, 2026, at Lifeline Church in Greenville. The family will receive friends beginning at 10:00 a.m. until time of service.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to Hope Afield, St. Jude Children’s Hospital, Lifeline Church of Greenville, or Drive-In Ministries in Prattville.
