Greenville 12U World Series bound

Greenville’s 12U Dixie Softball All-Star team placed second in the Alabama Dixie Softball state tournament held the last weekend in June. The tournament winner, Troy, decided not to participate in the Dixie Softball World Series, and as such, Greenville will take their place. The team roster for the World Series will be Kate Ballew, Lizzy Beverly, Maggie Lee Bourne, Sadie Cook, Anleigh Davis, Brenyn Hicks, Bella Howell, Shondreah Lawson, Mary Campbell McCormick, Quinn Sexton, Claire Tetter, and Charlee Whitaker. Coaches are Jake Newton, Alicia Sexton, and Chance Davis. Greenville will begin play in Winnabow, N.C., starting on Friday, July 24. (Bruce Branum | The Standard)
