Dollar General (DG) recently announced it has remodeled its store at 558 Hartley Street in McKenzie.

In addition to the same categories, brands, and products customers trust DG to carry, the store now provides customers with an assortment of fresh fruits and vegetables.

DG’s produce set offers the top 20 items typically sold in traditional grocery stores, which includes an assortment of lettuce, tomatoes, onions, apples, bananas, strawberries, potatoes, sweet potatoes, lemons, limes, salad mixes and more.

Matthew Simonsen, Dollar General’s senior vice president of real estate and store development, said, “At Dollar General, we strive to be a positive business partner and good community neighbor in McKenzie.”

In striving to be a good neighbor, DG is committed to the communities it proudly calls home, evidenced by support of literacy and education initiatives through the Dollar General Literacy Foundation.

Schools, nonprofit organizations and libraries within a 15-mile radius of a store can apply for Dollar General Literacy Foundation grants.

McKenzie School recently received a $1,000 grant from the foundation at the grand re-opening of Dollar General in McKenzie.
