What a weekend, as Hank Williams Festival Chairman Kyle Haynes put it, “What a weekend!”

Haynes was referring to the 47th Hank Williams Music Festival, which brought Georgiana and the Hank Williams Memorial Park alive with vendors with everything from food to jewelry, wall to wall overflow of spectators, and music, music, and music to the rafters under the pavilion there in the park.

From the git go at 10 a.m. until closing, Hank Williams Memorial park rocked with entertainers like Collin Stough, Joe Nichols, Easton Corbin, Dalton Bush Band, Curk Mosley, McKenzie’s own Mason Browder Band, and the ‘Bell of the Ball’ nine-year old Channing Spicer and father, Colby Spicer.

There were guests that traveled from as far away as Louisiana, Tullahoma, Tennessee, Florida, Mississippi and Georgia to enjoy the festival.

Q94 Radio show Kyle Haynes and David Norrell pulled double duty emceeing the event. Even Georgiana Mayor Nina Bonner and County Commissioner Joey Peavy were busy passing out fans and flags to the fans.

There was a 50/50 drawing in which Ralph Fuller of Lagrange, Ga., won $279 and Wanda Pugh of Fairhope won an autographed guitar of all the performing artist for this year’s festival sponsored by the Hank Williams International Fan Club.

Haynes said, “What a weekend! Entertainment, incredible weather perfect, and our Hank Fest fans showed up in force and booked lifetime memories with friends and family. It’s what our festival is all about. We have a plan to make the festival even better and the planning for next year is already underway.”

It was another successful year for Hank Fest.
