SNOW DAYS FOR THE COUNTY
Butler County saw in excess of four inches of snow last week in rare occurrence where areas along the coast from Florida to Louisiana saw seven plus inches. The snow event for Butler County lasted from about 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. on Tuesday, Jan. 21, with the most snowfall occurring after 12 p.m. With the frigid temperatures ranging from mid-teens at night to low 30’s in the day time following, many businesses and all schools were closed Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday, due to icy road and bridge conditions. Pictured are just a few scenes of the snowfall and snowmen which resulted. (Bruce Branum | The Standard)
