Quilt and artisan show draws many
The Gee’s Bend Quiltmakers quilts along with area artisan crafts and goods were on display at Beeland Park Community Center this past Saturday and Sunday. Sizeable crowds attended each day. Artisans lined the walls of the main meeting rooms while quilts were displayed in line down the center of the room. Several quilts were valued at over $15,000. Artisan crafts and goods included honey products, photography, scented candles, flavored salts and seasonings, charcuterie and cutting boards, sewn items, bird houses, baskets and much more. The Greenville Camellia Society (GCS) hosted the affair and plans to have similar events in the future. GCS President Jan Newton said, “The turnout has been wonderful. We hope to plan more events and involve the Gee’s Bend Quiltmakers and artisans. (Bruce Branum | The Standard)
