FAYE MATHEWS

Faye Mathews, 83, of Honoraville, passed from this life on Saturday, May 24, 2025, at her home following an extended illness. She was a native and lifelong resident of Butler County. Faye was a member of Antioch East Baptist Church. She loved flowers and gardening.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Thomas A. Mathews; son, Bruce A. Mathews; parents, Woodrow and Nora Kennedy; and sister, Donnie K. Rodgers.

She is survived by her brothers-in-law, Donnie Mathews, Dale Mathews (Brenda), Larry Mathews (Joann) and Herman Rodgers; as well as several nieces, nephews, cousins and other extended family members. Faye is also survived by special caregivers, Arzell, Debra, Stephanie, and Martha; and sitters, Gwen, Jeanette, and Jerry who all loved her dearly. Special thanks to Enhabit Hospice, Nancy, Cynthia, and Catherine for the wonderful care.

Graveside services were held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 27, at Antioch East Baptist Church Cemetery in Greenville with Rev. Ronnie Boulware officiating and Dunklin Funeral Home directing.
