The Fort Dale Academy Eagles were handed a tough region loss by the Morgan Academy Senators this past Friday 36-29.

The Eagles 4-4 entered the game with hope they could defeat the 4-5 Senators, but the Senators struck first in the first quarter with 14 points while the Eagles couldn’t find the end zone.

Fort Dale defense stiffened in the second quarter and they finally answered the Senators onslaught with a one yard run by Eagle Jackson Black to make the score 14-7 at halftime.

In the third quarter, the Eagles scored twice to make ground on the Senators, once on a one yard by Black and another by Black on a two yard run.

The Senators would score once to make score 22-22 at the end of the third quarter.

The Eagles took their first lead of the game in the fourth quarter on a 24-yard touchdown scamper.

However, Morgan would add 14 points to claim a 36-29 win over the Eagles.

The 3A Eagles, now 4-5, will travel to face the green and 5-5 gold 2A Warriors of Sparta Academy this Friday for a non-region game..
