Pioneer Electric and local hospitals partner

Pioneer Electric Cooperative has invested in supporting rural healthcare in Butler and Crenshaw counties through Alabama’s Rural Hospital Investment Tax Credit program.

Through the program, Pioneer Electric contributed $20,000 each to Crenshaw Community Hospital in Luverne and Regional Medical Center of Central Alabama in Greenville to support the continued delivery of essential health care services in the region.

“The Rural Hospital Investment Tax Credit program allows us to invest our state tax dollars into local communities to benefit the communities Pioneer Electric serves,” said Terry Moseley, general manager of Pioneer Electric Cooperative. “These contributions do not come from the electric rates our members pay. Instead, they allow us to support critical community resources like rural hospitals by redirecting funds we owe to the state and keeping them here at home.”

Rural hospitals serve as a vital source of emergency care, inpatient services, outpatient treatment and ongoing medical support in the communities they serve.

They are a primary source of health care and local employment, making their long-term viability critical to our community.

The Rural Hospital Investment Tax Credit program encourages private investment to help ensure these facilities remain accessible and sustainable.

These partnerships demonstrate a shared commitment to strengthening the communities we collectively serve while ensuring responsible stewardship of resources.

“Frey Medical Management is grateful for Pioneer Electric’s contribution to both Crenshaw Community Hospital and RMCCA,” said Michael Frey, Frey Medical Management Managing Partner. “The appreciation goes deeper than it appears on the surface. Pioneer Electric’s support shows that they truly care about the healthcare in their community, and they, along with many others, are what is going to build these hospitals into full-service quality healthcare centers. Relationships like this are essential to building a strong connection between the community and the hospital. Together we can accomplish our goals.”
