26th Annual South Alabama Open Karate Tournament

The Annual South Alabama Open Karate Tournament is in its twenty sixth year and is held at Straughn High School Gymnasium in Andalusia.
Scheduled for June 13th, this annual martial Arts competition is touted as one of the most premier Karate tournaments in the nation.
The South Alabama Karate Open is known for its fair and impartial judging and pulls talent from as far away as Virginia and Texas to include additional States of North Carolina, South Carolina, Louisiana, Tennessee, Ohio, Georgia, Florida and of course Alabama.
The tournament director and Hall of Fame Martial Artist 8th Dan Isshin Ryu Instructor Mark Rudd said, “Last year twenty six Dojo’s were represented and competed in our tournament. Like last year, we will have two Youth Kyu Rank Kata Grand Championships pitting the winners of all 10 and under, and 11 – 17 Kyu rank Kata and weapons divisions against each other.”
Registration at the door is $60, pre-registration is $55, and for spectators is only $5.
