The Greenville Area Chamber of Commerce and the City of Greenville will sponsor Celebrate America, a spectacular fireworks show on July 4 at 9 p.m.

Due to the maintenance to the football field and the stadium, the regular festivities associated with Celebrate America will have to be postponed until next year.

“We are just not able to do our regular activities like food and air jumps,” said Francine Wasden, Executive Director of the Chamber of Commerce. “But this is not an annual change, we will make sure to have our regular festivities back next year.”

To make up for the lack of activities, the fireworks show is set to be one of the biggest Greenville has ever had.

“You will be able to see the show from the stadium and from around the downtown area,” said Wasden. “In past years, we have even had people tell us they parked as far away as Alabama Power on the bypass and been able to enjoy the show.”

Gates to Tiger Stadium for seating in the bleachers will open at 7 p.m., no one will be allowed on the field due to the maintenance.

The fireworks show is scheduled to start promptly at 9 p.m. Come out and celebrate the Fourth of July with the community and enjoy a great show!
