The Greenville Area Arts Council has announced the list of Season 42 concerts at the historic Ritz Theater in Greenville for 2023-2024.
Executive Director Nancy Idland is excited about the season and indicated that the entertainment lineup will not only bring back memories but also feature a talented quartet of country singers, and a visual concert creating live art to music.
The venue is as follows:
On Oct. 10, beginning at 6 p.m. the GAAC will host a ‘Red Carpet Street Party’ at 6 p.m.
To immediately follow at 7:30 p.m. the ever popular The Black Jacket Symphony (BJS) – Madman across the Water Elton John will perform.
BJS is known for recreating iconic album music in its entirety, note for note. The group is handpicked based upon the album with no sonic detail overlooked.
On Nov. 19 at 7 p.m., Artrageous will take the stage at the Ritz. Their website states, “Step into this outrageous adventure of arts: the ONLY show where you can witness the fusion of live art, rock concert, imaginative movement, vocal performance, comedy, blacklight Bunraku, Artpunk wear, and inclusion in one magical experience.”
Ninety two percent of fans voted Artrageous the best show they’ve ever seen.
On Jan. 9, 70s Rock Revival Troubadour Project will take the stage at 7 p.m. with a step back in time to the golden era of rock ‘n’ roll with the electrifying sound of the Troubadour Project.
This legendary band effortlessly captures iconic sounds of Fleetwood Mac, Queen, Led Zeppelin, ELO, Peter Frampton, Supertramp, The Eagles and more. Each performance is a tapestry of rock history.
On Feb. 27, 4 Runner will perform beginning at 7 p.m. The group of four veteran singer/songwriters combined their talents to create the vocal quartet, 4Runner.
Individually, they have toured with artists as varied as Loretta Lynn, Steven Curtis Chapman, Donny and Marie Osmond, Craig Morgan and Dobie Gray, written songs for Ray Charles, Reba McEntire and The Oak Ridge Boys and added their voices, songs and arrangements to the films, My Cousin Vinnie, 8 Seconds and The Eyes of Tammy Faye.
Their smash hit, Cain’s Blood, raced up the charts and secured tours with Tim McGraw, Faith Hill and Kenny Rogers and a guest spot on The Tonight Show.
