First Methodist Church in Greenville will host the Butler County Ministerial Association’s (BCMA) annual Community Thanksgiving Service this year on Tuesday, Nov. 26 at 6:30 p.m.

According to Pastor Linda Suzanne Borgen of St. Thomas Episcopal Church in Greenville, the annual event helps unify the county.

An offering plate will be passed during the event to raise funds for transients, those in need of help with their utility bills, and those with other needs.

Abbie Jackson of the BCMA indicated their work throughout the year supports a variety of efforts, events, schools and community service projects throughout Butler County and directly touches the lives of scores of people each year far beyond the bounds of Butler County.

The service will include worship, invocation, readings, prayers, special music, messages, and benediction.

There will also be a joint choir consisting of choir members from churches in Butler County who will perform songs of worship and praise and thanksgiving.

The funds are disbursed by the BCMA in conjunction with the Greenville Police Department.

The BCMA meets every month at the Regional Medical Center of Central Alabama cafeteria at 12 p.m. on the first Wednesday of every month.
