BCHGS February meeting notes

The Butler County Historical & Genealogical Society (BCHGS) Executive Board met Tuesday, Feb. 18, to discuss programming and special events for the upcoming year.

The group welcomed Al Gaston and Johnny Autrey as executive board members, and newly elected officers, President Pamala Nolan and Vice President Melanie Pitts Stonestreet.

Martha Grimes Lampkin was named Ex Officio Board Member in her important role as social media manager.

“We are so pleased to have Al and Johnny join us on the executive board. Al is a longtime member and genealogist, and Johnny is a past president of the organization.” Nolan said.

“We’ve got most of Butler County covered geographically by our board Members. We really want all sections of our county to feel included in our activities. Melanie [Pitts Stonestreet] brings a fresh voice to the group and has some interesting ideas for programs which are sure to appeal to many.”

BCHGS is a nonprofit organization dedicated to preserving the history and heritage of Butler County and its people now in its 61st year.

Quarterly meetings in 2025 will be held the last Sunday of April, July and October.

Special events are announced in the BCHGS Quarterly and on social media.  Email [email protected] or follow BCHGS on Facebook and Instagram.
