Nedra Crosby and Steadham McGowin of the Sasanqua Garden Club joined city horticulturist Mark Foshee, local designer and building specialist Freddie Daughtry, and garden consultant Bobby Green on a walk-through of the Beeland Park Camellia Gardens to begin drafting plans for a pavilion.
The pavilion will be an area appropriate for weddings, music venues, yoga classes, educational programs, and other gatherings.
Located near the bottom of a hillside, audiences attending pavilion events will be able to be seated in folding chairs, lawn chairs, or upon blankets.
The group also began discussions about designs for the children’s Enchanted Garden, the refurbishing of the original fountain, and the addition of native stone picnic tables and benches.
The public is encouraged to visit Beeland Park Camellia Gardens where they can check out the new entrance, walk along the path, experience the beauty of spring, and enjoy watching the progress as this lovely project continues to grow.
