Miss Susan’s School of Dance holds spring recital
Miss Susan’s School of Dance held its spring recital at the Ritz Theater on May 10. The jazz and tap portion was titled “Salute to Hollywood Stars” and paid tribute to dance legends. Anne Miller, Shirley Temple, Eleanor Parker, Donald O’Connor, and Fred Astaire. This year’s ballet was La Fille Mal Gardee which tells the story of a young farmer in love. In Act One the dancers performed as part of the farm scene with cheerful routines featuring chickens, grapes, and flowers. In Act Two the dancers visit a festival where they dance around a maypole before a storm rushes in.
