Three county teams fall

It was not a good Friday night for three of Butler County’s football teams.

The McKenzie Tigers were the lone winner with a 52-13 plucking of the Pleasant Home Eagles.

McKenzie took control from the first and dominated the field. By halftime, the score was 22-0.

McKenzie now stands at 6-0 overall and 4-0 in region play. They next face the 2-5 orange and blue Kinston Bulldogs in region game.

The Fort Dale Academy Eagles were hit the worst with a 47-0 loss to the Chamber Academy Rebels.

From the first of the game, the Rebels onslaught had the Eagles on the heels. By halftime, the score was 41-0.

The Rebels racked up 521 yards total offense while Fort Dale could only muster 101.

Next for the 4-2 Eagles who are 1-1 in region play are the 4-3 blue and white Southern Academy Cougars who are also 1-1 in region play.

The next worst loss came from the Greenville High School Tigers who took a 42-7 shellacking from the Eufaula Tigers.

Tiger Cedric Morris scored Greenville’s only points on a 39-yard scramble in the fourth quarter.

Next up for the 1-6 Tigers, who are 0-4 in region play, are the red and white 0-8 Eagles of Carroll who are 0-3.

Finally, the Panthers of Georgina put up a hard scrap but the Bulldogs of Brantley won 28-20.

Panther’s Jordan Maye, Chris Boyd, and Jyrese Presly each found the end zone in the loss.

The Panthers will next travel to face the black and gold Tigers of Red Level in region play. The 3-3 Tigers were handed a 49-6 loss in their recent game with Elba.
