The Greenville High School Tigers fell to the Eagles from Carroll of Ozark this past Friday evening 29-12.

The 1-5 5A Tigers were hopeful for a win on Homecoming night as the winless 5A Eagles (0-7) came to town.

It was not to be as the Tigers couldn’t quite get their aim straight to shoot down the Eagles.

In the first quarter, Carroll drew first blood on a scoring pass at the four minute mark. They then struck again with less a minute for a rushing touchdown to make the 14-0 to end the first quarter.

Greenville, at the eight minute mark in the second quarter, finally answered Carroll with a Cedric Morris to Jamal Payne 34-yard passing touchdown.

The Eagles answered right back with a 68-yard passing touchdown and two point conversion to make the score at the eight minute mark, 22-6.

With three minutes to go in the second quarter, the Tigers would score on a 14-yard pass from Morris to Kentreyius Carter to make the score 22-12.

The second half was not any better for the Tigers as Carroll added another seven points in the third quarter.

This made the score 29-12, which would be the final tally at the end of the game.

Greenville, now 1-6, will travel to square off with the blue and gold 5A Catholic Montgomery Knights this Friday evening for a region game.

The Knights are 4-3 and coming off a 51-7 win over the Headland Rams. Greenville will have another tough go.
