MAAA to host May 2 reunion in Pine Apple
PINE APPLE, Ala. — The Moore Academy Alumni Association invites alumni, families, and friends to gather for a special day of fellowship, remembrance, and local history on Saturday, May 2, in Pine Apple.
The annual meeting and reunion will begin with registration at 9:30 a.m. in the school gym, followed by a full day of activities celebrating the legacy of Moore Academy and the generations who passed through its halls.
Guests will have the opportunity to tour the school building, view recent improvements, and explore rooms filled with memorabilia and historical displays that reflect the school’s rich heritage.
A highlight of the day will be a featured presentation on the Langham family by the Honorable Charles Langham, offering a meaningful look at one of the families whose history is closely tied to the community.
The event will also include a special memorial table honoring beloved alumni who have passed away.
Those remembered this year include: Mrs. Peggy Brown, Mr. Jimmie Moody, Mrs. Olivia Stone Dale, Mrs. Judy Jones Thompson, Mr. William E. “Mac” McClurkin, Mr. Tommy Garrett, Mrs. Sheliah Jeffcoat Collins, Mrs. Era Herring Luckie Daniell, Mrs. Vera Herring Rozier, Mrs. Barbara Jones Manning, Mr. Lee William Cochran, Mrs. Marilyn Melton Bozeman Cook, Mrs. Tolise Ward Huber, Mrs. Mary Louise Robinson Lambert, Mr. Henry F. Jordan, Mrs. Betty Harris Siefert, Mrs. Ruth Jordan Cummings, and Mrs. Louise Brown Robinson.
Attendees are invited to enjoy lunch together, reconnect with classmates and friends, and share in the stories and traditions that continue to define Moore Academy’s place in the community.
In addition, the County Road 7 Gospel Singers will also be playing.
The reunion is open to everyone — alumni, former students, teachers, coaches, relatives, and anyone interested in the history of Moore Academy and Pine Apple.
