Christmas across Butler County

This past week both Greenville and Georgiana held their Christmas parades and tree lightings. Greenville held their event Tuesday evening while Georgiana held their Christmas Tree lighting on Thursday evening and parade on Saturday morning. Turnouts were sizeable for both cities. For Greenville’s parade, 88 entries participated. At both cities Christmas Tree lightings, newly sworn in mayors, Jae Quez Brown for Greenville and Nina Bonner for Georgiana, had the honor for the first lighting. Greenville’s parade event included Santa in the Park, food trucks, and snow makers. Georgiana’s parade event was accompanied by a Holiday Street Festival. Tracy Salter, Greenville Area Chamber of Commerce Executive Director, noted her appreciation to all who helped make Greenville’s Christmas event so special. The parade entry winners were: Off road (golf cart, side by side), Greenville Parks and Recreation; Vehicle (car, truck, no float), Greenville Chevrolet; and Floats, Butler County Soil and Water Conservation.
