County Fair Pageant announced

On Saturday, Sept. 22, the Greenville Kiwanis Club will host the annual Miss Butler County Fair Pageant at the historic Ritz Theater in beautiful downtown Greenville.
The pageant invites young ladies from infancy through 18 years of age to join and compete in this fun pageant honoring all of the young ladies of Butler County.
There are eight categories this year:
Precious Miss, 0-12 months
Darling Miss, 12-23 months
Dainty Miss, 2-3 years
Fancy Miss, 4-6 years
Charming Miss, 7-9 years
Lovely Miss, 10-12 years
Elegant Miss, 13-15 years
Miss Butler County Fair, 16-18 years.
The pageant is slated to start at 1 p.m. with the Precious Miss infant category and run through the afternoon until the Miss Butler County Fair finale at 5 p.m.
There will be a rehearsal Friday afternoon at the Ritz, Sept. 21 from 5-7 p.m.
There are five photogenic options for all categories and a Miss Congeniality award for ages 10 and up.
Cost of the pageant is $25 and each photo option is $5. The deadline for the pageant is Friday, Sept. 14 by noon.
Registration forms may be picked up and dropped off at Butler County Land and Title, 606 E Commerce St. on the square, or The Greenville Standard Newspaper Office weekdays before noon, or by contacting Jeanne Callen by text or phone at (334)-850-2773.
The Butler County Fair Pageant is a fundraiser for the Greenville Kiwanis Club whose members are dedicated to bringing educational and character building programs to the youth of Butler County.
The club donates or supports programs such as: RIF Reading Is Fundamental, providing Christmas gifts for underprivileged children in Butler County through Safe Harbor, Terrific Kids, Farm Day, Boy Scouts of America, Back to School Bash, sponsoring Key Clubs in area schools, giving two $500 scholarships each year to deserving area high school seniors and giving away a bicycle each night during the Butler County Fair in a drawing.
The Butler County Fair is the biggest fundraiser the Greenville Kiwanis Club sponsors, and that provides money for programs and entertainment for citizens of Butler County as well as the surrounding counties.
